Protective equipment cat. III-a for chemotherapy and clean rooms
Cytostatics are drugs that inhibit the growth of cells, their main target is the tumour cell fractions found in dividing cells. A distinction is made between phospho-specific cytostatics, cyclo-specific cytostatics and non-cyclo-specific cytostatics. Because of their action, mutagenic (germ-killing), reproductive toxicity (danger to the foetus and influence on fertility) and carcinogenic (carcinogenic) side-effects may occur in case of exposure. Depending on the classification, hormones, monoclonal antibodies and other substances are also included among cytostatics.
The toxicity of cytostatics is well known and so are the associated risks. Whether we are talking about severe skin allergies and teratogenesis in the very short term, dizziness and chronic fatigue in the short term, nail and hair damage in the medium term and even infertility in females and carcinogenicity, all form a symptomatic and diagnostic picture that is as stark as it is real.

FFP3 and FFP2 respiratory masks
UVEX Safety's FFP3 foldable respirator with integrated climate ventilation offers you optimal protection against particles and aerosols. The innovative design of this FFP-3 mask ensures an optimal fit while maintaining maximum safety features. Minimal breathing resistance plus integrated exhalation valve adds to the comfort factor. Type tested and certified in accordance with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 (Personal Protective Equipment).
This respiratory protective mask is particularly suitable for exposure to CMR pharmaceuticals (e.g. cytostatics, virostatics, etc.), biological agents and viruses.
• Category III personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425
• Tested and certified
• Particulate filtering mask FFP3 DIN EN 149
• Particle retention capacity of at least 99%.
• Against dust, smoke and aerosols
• Climatic ventilation reduces exhalation resistance
• Completely latex free
• Suitable for exposure to CMR pharmaceuticals (e.g. cytostatics, virustatics), microorganisms and viruses
• PCan be worn for up to 8 hours (no cytostatics applied)
• Recommended for protection against Mexican influenza (also known as swine flu), a group of orthomyxo viruses, e.g. A/H1N1 virus and variants, avian influenza A/H5N1 virus and highly recommended for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)
• Also suitable for protection against anthrax and similar biological agents
The UVEX FFP-2 particulate filter folding mask with integrated valve provides optimal protection against particles, aerosols and harmful substances up to 10 times the value of the flakes.
This FFP-2 mask's new shape-optimized design with an adaptable nose bridge makes application easier and provides an extremely comfortable fit while offering maximum protection.
Minimal breathing resistance and integrated air conditioning valve keep comfort high. The correct fit of the mask can be easily checked (filter material moves when breathing). The masks comply with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 (personal protective equipment).
• Category III personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Tested and certified
• Particulate filtering mask FFP2 DIN EN 149
• Particle retention capacity of at least 94%.
• Against dust and aerosols
• Dolomite dust test - for heavy dust and long use
• Climatic ventilation reduces exhalation resistance
• Completely latex free
• Maximum use: 8 hours
• Recommended for protection against Mexican flu (also called swine flu) - group belonging to orthomyxo viruses, e.g. virus (A/H1N1) and other types such as avian flu (H5N1).
Cytostatic protective gloves
Range of gloves developed specifically for laboratory use, focused on meeting users' needs in terms of comfort, quality and protection. They comply with Council Directive 89/686/EEC as Personal Protective Equipment Category III (complex design), offering protection against irreversible risk and tested in accordance with the 2003 version. The synthetic gloves in this range are manufactured using a multi-polymer formula, while the unique two-colour appearance is based on a double-dipping process. This technology means that users enjoy double-walled protection. The orange colour, usually associated with higher risk applications, allows for easy colour differentiation.
Gloves offer resistance to micro-organisms and viruses. There are three levels of protection (levels 1, 2 and 3 corresponding to AQL 4, 1.5 and 0.65) according to EN374-2: 2003. The highest level of protection is level 3 / AQL 0.65. It is worth remembering that this is a statistical leakage test, which may not be suitable for demonstrating viral resistance. For the latter, it may be appropriate to refer to a viral penetration test using a bacteriophage (e.g. ASTMF1671 or ISO16604).
The presence of pores cannot be completely eliminated, yet their existence facilitates the leakage of hazardous chemicals and microbiological agents to come into contact with the user's skin. By virtue of an innovative double-dipping process, we bring the benefits of double-walled protection to the scientific community.
Medical devices for oncology
AUTOFUSER ELASTOMERIC PUMP
Elastomeric pump for continuous intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular and regional administration of antibiotics, chemotherapeutics and anaesthetics, with the possibility of intermittent bolus administration by the patient.
CENTRAL VASCULAR ACCESS SET WITH IMPLANTABLE CHAMBER
CPP T-PORT-PUR Implantable Chamber Catheter is an implantable total vascular access system made of biocompatible materials.
HUBER NEEDLE
Huber needle with extendable tube for medication administration, for implantable chamber, soft fins allow secure positioning; Individually packaged in a rigid blister and sterilized with ethylene oxide.
RESPIRATORY MASK WITH COVERED VALVE AURA 1883+
When properly used and maintained, respirators can reduce exposures to concentrations considered unsafe for most non-biological particles.
Aura Respiratory Protection Masks feature new low breathing resistance filtration technology: an innovative filtration environment that helps minimise breathing resistance. This allows high performance filtration with less effort from the wearer.
Helps protect against hazardous airborne contaminants and help protect the patient and the environment by filtering airborne particles, both inhaled and exhaled. The covered valve provides more comfortable use by eliminating heat.
Closed cytostatic transfer and delivery systems
THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO PROTECT YOURSELF
The easy-to-use ChemoClave system mechanically and microbiologically maintains a closed needle-free system to eliminate the potential for hazardous injuries, helping to keep you safe from exposure to hazardous substances. ChemoClave also generates less hazardous waste than competing systems and helps keep you and your patients safe at every stage of the hazardous cytostatic handling process
ChemoClave and Multi-pack oncology kits give you everything you need for safe procedures when preparing and administering cytostatics. The easy-to-use, needle-free ChemoClave system helps you prevent spills and drips by reducing exposure to hazardous substances, while helping you follow the recommendations for the entire process of safe cytostatic handling.
